Live Rock

Despite its name, live rock is not actually alive. A live rock is a great accessory for a salt water aquarium. Introduced from the ocean live rock is formed from the calcium carbonate skeletons of long dead corals. Many forms of micro and macroscopic marine life live on and inside the rock, which is where the name comes from. Live rock works as a biological filter, helping to maintain the environment of your aquarium.
